Abstract

Is a Pluricultural and Plurinational Argentina possible? In this talk, Orlando Carriqueo, Werken (spokesperson) of the Coordinator of the Tehuelche Mapuche Parliament in the Province of Río Negro, shares his reflections on the relations of indigenous peoples with the State, the process of building indigenous political identity and the consequences of Neoextractivism. Carriqueo also analyzes the debt of recognition that exists with indigenous peoples and argues that the acknowledging of the indigenous genocide by the State is the cornerstone for the construction of a country that respects the diversity that constitutes it.
